Konnichiwa,
Recently I was required to return to the USA to play for the Eagles in the annual Churchill Cup.
We drew England followed by Ireland and then Canada on the final day.
Heavy loses to England and Ireland were disappointing but not as much as the loss to old rivals Canada. Going into half time with a 10-0 lead we were confident of a win. But the second half seemed to like a different game as Canada scored 26 un answered points to win 26-10.
Upon returning to IBM I had a heavy week of training as I decided to do extra weight training and fitness work. As I wasn't required for the Toshiba game I thought it wise to get some extra training in while I could.
The team performed well against Toshiba and was unlucky not to come closer in the score line.
I am looking forward to my next opportunity to play as the team has made some real progress in my time away.
With three days off this weekend I decided to explore Japan a little. I went to Izu Hanto, specifically the small coastal town of Ose Zaki where I understood there to be excellent scuba diving.
I spent two days in Ose Zaki and enjoyed some outstanding dives. Unlike anything I had seen at the many places around the world I have dived Japan boasted abundant species of fish, crab and seaweed. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience and can not wait to explore much more of Japan.
Next is Iriomote Jima and Okinawa for some more scuba and wildlife exploration.
Sayonara
